Dr. Mondi-Rago's approach
“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.” - Carl Rogers
"I am passionate about supporting children, teens, and families in building good lives - including strong, meaningful relationships; and the skills to navigate life's ups and downs. I was fortunate to do my doctoral training at the #1 Child Psychology program in the country, and over the years have worked in a wide range of settings (outpatient, primary care, emergency departments, partial hospitalization, inpatient medical units...). More than a decade into providing clinical care, I am deeply committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to every patient and family (no one-size-fits-all approaches here).
"While I have experience with many patient populations, in my private practice, I specialize in working with: (1) high-achieving children/teens struggling with depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem; and (2) children/teens who have experienced significant trauma or stressful life events.
My process begins with a thorough clinical and developmental assessment, during which we'll map out your child's and family's unique needs, strengths, hopes, and challenges. This assessment informs the development of a personalized treatment plan, including specific goals. I often draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) frameworks, but always tailor to each patient and family.
Deciding to seek therapy takes courage, and seeking therapy for your child is an extra courageous step. If we work together, I believe that you and your child will find me warm, easy to talk to, and willing to go above and beyond for your family. I'd be glad to connect to learn about what you're looking for, and to share more about my practice."
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
"I am from a large, multicultural family (Cuban/Slovenian/Italian/Irish). I am personally and professionally committed to continually increasing my cultural sensitivity and self-awareness through education, training, and advocacy.
I am also a strong advocate for the LGTBQ+ community and am delighted to serve these youth in my practice."
